Red Scare !
#1
Either a couple of "wet behind the ears" new Democrats are controlling Trump, or he just needs more red meat to throw at the MAGAfrauds. I suspect the foamers don't realize that their Social Security, Medicare and farm subsidies meets the classic definition of Marxism. His SOTU speech was filled references to socialism to the drooling applause of the equally frightened republicans in attendance.

Socialism is here, has been for awhile. Not a single legit proposal from the Prez or any member of Congress has been put forth to curtail our socialistic institutions. They love socialism !

Sam summed it up well in this recent interview

https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/sa...ry-already

“It’s too late. Over half of Americans are on socialist programs of the federal government. I’m on Medicare, I’m an old guy, and Medicaid, welfare programs not just for the poor, for the rich,” Donaldson told CNN anchor Don Lemon. “’Hey, how about a sugar subsidy to the ranchers and farmers, let’s buy you some wheat since you can’t sell it on the market at the moment,’ we’re already on the way.  And Don, in a few years, we’re going to have a single-payer system, I think. The public is pushing towards it. Unless you say, ‘But that’s socialism! I don’t want that, but I do want good medical care and I want the government to pay for it. We’re a socialist country already.”
The former ABC News anchor disputed the notion that socialism means “big government telling you how to live, what to do [and] when to do it.”

“That’s not the socialist country as I understand it in Norway, Sweden. I mean, much of the established western world has socialism to a greater extent than we have and their people get along,” the 84-year-old journalist continued. “I think it is in this country, the fact that we came from this ridged in the Southwest, ‘We’ve got the right to do it ourselves and pull ourselves up by our bootstraps. And nevermind those people over there who don’t seem to have any boots.’ That’s dying. We are getting to be a better country.”

A couple of things.
I didn't listen to or watch Trump's speech. The reason: It doesn't matter what he 'says', it matters what he 'does' because he doesn't usually do what he says. To me, that is a disappointment.

Yes, we've had more and more socialism since the 'Progressives' started having their way in the early 1900s. Roosevelt, Wilson, FDR, LBJ, have killed our Liberty with both social and corporate welfare. So, Sam is mostly correct and people like him are part of the problem.

You people want more wealth distribution. I want none.

Wealth redistribution was not invented by progressives. It was the federalists.

I'm listening. What social/corporate welfare programs and income tax did the Federalists institute?

True to form you have your personal neo-PC definition of wealth redistribution. But I'll bite... The Post Office

Ah the postal service, a classical wealth distribution scheme. Doling out government benefits disproportionately according to need.

What happened to the Federalists?

Huh? It was in the Constitution and ratified by the states. It is one of the 18 things the government was obliged to do. Are you also blaming the Federalists for having the Navy to secure our shores?

Also, I have no idea why you are arguing. I agreed with you that we are a socialist nation headed to the dump heap where all socialist nations end up.
