RE: Not Exactly the Same Thing - j.p. - 12-04-2018 We are all a drag on the welfare system no matter which way we cook the books. RE: Not Exactly the Same Thing - k.d. - 12-04-2018 Please, speak for yourself. RE: Not Exactly the Same Thing - k.d. - 12-05-2018 According to the Census Bureau, it's worse than I thought - at least in CA. More than 7-in-10 households headed by immigrants in the state of California are on taxpayer-funded welfare, a new study reveals. The latest Census Bureau data analyzed by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) finds that about 72 percent of households headed by noncitizens and immigrants use one or more forms of taxpayer-funded welfare programs in California — the number one immigrant-receiving state in the U.S. Meanwhile, only about 35 percent of households headed by native-born Americans use welfare in California. RE: Not Exactly the Same Thing - j.p. - 12-05-2018 The Trump gang redefined welfare for the purposes of this study to include: Tax credits (EITC) TANF for which work is required Free and Reduced priced school meals which they conveniently didn't mention the all school lunches are subsidized. Buried in the study is the fact that it is the "citizens" within the households headed by non-citizens that qualify for the assistance. We didn't need this non scientific study to tell us that many immigrants are po people. This statement you made I found a little amusing coming from you : (I capitalized the funny word) Meanwhile, ONLY about 35 percent of households headed by native-born Americans use welfare in California. RE: Not Exactly the Same Thing - k.d. - 12-05-2018 Study sez: Quote:about 35 percent of households headed by native-born Americans use welfare in California. You say: Quote:We are all a drag on the welfare system no matter which way we cook the books. So, which is it? RE: Not Exactly the Same Thing - j.p. - 12-05-2018 All of us enjoy the fruits of this great nation. RE: Not Exactly the Same Thing - k.d. - 12-05-2018 Even the non-productive who are a drag on society. This simply means we are more socialist than the original Constitutional Republic which was intended. RE: Not Exactly the Same Thing - j.p. - 12-05-2018 Most of the founders were pretty decent people. I think their hopes were that all enjoy the benefits of this great country. RE: Not Exactly the Same Thing - k.d. - 12-05-2018 I agree, but not by wealth redistribution., but by fruits of their own labor. RE: Not Exactly the Same Thing - j.p. - 12-05-2018 I think everybody agrees with that statement. |
