Well, guess what, if those votes were illegal, then those same votes were illegal for all offices, including for president. And, since it was Florida, there's a good chance those vote were for Trump. Still illegal.

What is the point ? I didn't see anything particularly unusual or profound in throwing out illegal votes. Illegal votes were thrown out in the Prez elections too. And I presume if the illegal votes ever would have changed the outcome, then legislatures could vote to decertify the election depending on state law.
